On the Record
The Black Business Directory
A curated, editor-verified record of Black-owned businesses that meet the standard. Search the record, filter by city and trade, and rate the businesses you have actually visited.
Black Owned Businesses
Starting ratings were seeded from public review data in August 2026 and shift as customers rate each business. New visitor ratings are moderated by our editors before they appear on a listing.
How the Ratings Work
A Record You Can Trust
Each business on the Black Opulence directory carries a rating. Starting ratings were seeded from public review data in August 2026 and shift as customers rate each business. Businesses we have not yet found a starting rating for are marked “Not yet rated.”
Visitors can add their own ratings using the form on each listing. Those submissions are moderated before they appear, so a competitor cannot tank a score with a flood of one-star reviews and an owner cannot pad their own with a stack of five-star ones. Each rating is reviewed by our editors, and only submissions that meet our standard go live.
If you have done business with a listing here, leave a rating on its page. Your honesty is what makes the record worth reading.
